National Service Scheme

National Service Scheme (NSS) aims to give a platform for the youth for an overall personality development through community service. LBSCEK has three vibrant NSS units 179, 319 and 683 working under APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University NSS cell. Altogether, there are about 250 active volunteers who are selected from the second and third year of the college from various departments. The three units as monitored and guided by the Programme Officers appointed by the Principal, with active leadership of Volunteer Secretaries selected from among the student volunteers.  The NSS units are funded by the Government for two aided units and one self-financing unit for carrying out the activities in a fruitful manner. NSS upholds the policy of “Not Me But You” and has always stood up to its strong spirit of serving the society. NSS undertakes a range of activities which include orientation for the students, community services and seven-day special camp. We have adopted the Muliyar Grama Panchayat and is actively involved in the upliftment of the local society with a range of programme like organizing awareness camps, visit to special school, visit to old age homes, organising blood donation camps, financially and mentally helping the poor and the needy, anti-drugs awareness classes, organic farming, socio economic surveys, to name a few.

Programme Officer : The Program officers in charge of the NSS units are Dr. Ahamed Kabeer M (179), Mr. Sajan Jerome (319) and Ms. Reema K V (683) along with Assistant Program Officers Ms. Saritha M V (319) and Mr. Jayadevan P (683).
