IEEE, is an international professional body dedicated to advancing innovation and technological excellence for the benefit of humanity, is the world’s largest technical professional society. It is designed to serve professionals involved in all aspects of the electrical, electronic, and computing fields and related areas of science and technology that underlie modern civilization.

IEEE SB LBS College of Engineering Kasaragod (LBSCEK) was initiated in the year 2015 .Mr. Adithya Chandra was the first Student Chair of the Student Branch. IEEE SB LBSCEK belongs to Malabar Hub, Kerala Section, India Council and Region 10: Asia and Pacific Region. Right from its inception, our student branch has grown and has been involved in various in-house and Hub and Section level programmes. Our students have volunteered in different positions in Hub and Section level. Currently we have four Organizational Units associated with our SB

Our students have participated in various Inter-collegiate Programmes and won many awards and accolades. They have also participated in several Section Level camps and training programmes.

The major programme conducted during the year 2021-’22 is summarised below:

• Inter Collegiate Article Writing Competition as part of  SAHASRA 3.0 in the topic ‘Engineering for Sustainable Future’ on 23 June 2021
• In-house Spectrum Talk on the topic ‘Women in Engineering’ by Varun Vinay on 20th June 2021.
• Workshop on PCB Design on June 12, 2021.
• In-house Spectrum talk  on the topic ‘World Environment Day’ by Celiya Theres and ‘World Environment Day’ Quiz by Jeswin Babu on 6th June 2021.
• IEEE WIE SB of LBSCEK conducted an online quiz competition on the topic Environment and Biodiversity, in connection with World Environment Day 2021 celebrations on 5th June 2021
• IEEE PES SBC, IEEE IES SBC and IEDC of LBSCEK joined their hands together in relationship with  Entri App conducted an  online talk on The Infinite Possibilities of GATE & Job Opportunities In Public Sector Units on  29th May, 2021
• IEEE SB of LBSCEK conducted a poster making competition ’’Partum consilio” on the theme ’Technology and Nature’ 25th May 2021

• Workshop on BlockChain Technology on 16 th may 2021
• In house Spectrum talk  on the topic Artificial Intelligence by K.K. Sukanya on 9th May 2021
• IEEE PES SBC of LBSCE conducted a POWER QUIZ competition as a part of PES Day 2021 celebration on the theme ” CLEAN ENERGY “on 30 April 2021.
• IEEE PES SBC LBS CEK  in association with  IEEE PES SBC VJEC organised a talk on Importance of PES Day and theTheme by Er. Anandhu S Kumar
• (Regional coordinator, PES Day 2021) as part of PES Day 2021 celebration on 25th April 2021.

• IEEE SB LBS College of Engineering Kasaragod hosted the event POST A LETTER on the occasion of National Science Week Celebrations on 15th March, 2021.
• IEEE Industrial Electronics Society conducted a orientation programme for our students  on March 11th, 2021
• IEEE SB LBS and IEEE PES LBS jointly  Photography competition on 28th February 2021 on the theme ‘Science, technology and Innovation’  National Science Day Celebrations
• In-house Spectrum talk on 27th February, 2021.
• IEEE LBS Student Branch organised a talk on how to choose and read a Technical Article by Dr. Nithin M., R.V. College of Engineering, Bengaluru, Karnataka on 13th February 2021 at 3 PM.
• Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society, Kerala Chapter conducted an orientation programme for our students on Monday 18th Jan, 2021 at 2.30 PM
• Orientation classes for First Year students of ECE, EEE, CSE and IT was conducted in month of January.

PES SBC LBSCEK

The PES SBC was inaugurated on 14th November, 2019 by Mr. Suhair A K , Chairman, IEEE PES Kerala chapter. The inauguration ceremony was followed by a talk on GIS by Mr. Suhair A K.

Industrial Electronics Society(IES) SBC LBSCEK

This is the latest student branch chapter formed in our college. The Student Branch Chapter is headed by Student Chair Sukanya K.K. (2019-23 ECE Batch). The SBC has already conducted some programmes for the students in the College and Section Level. The formal inauguration of the SBC is planned on July 4th, 2021.
