Department of IT offers undergraduate programmes in Information Technology andMaster of Computer Application programme.The effective use of IT is a major component of economic growth and innovation.Since its inception in the year 2000, the department has progressed rapidly to keep pace withthe needs of the time and is now regarded as one of the premiere departments. It has already proven itself as a center for excellence, innovation and research, with dedicated faculty, highly motivated students, state-of-the-art facilities and an innovative teachinglearning environment. The course contents are intended to give the students a holistic and pragmatic view of the present scenario of the IT industry as well as a grounding in the concepts and theories that will shape the future of the industry. The regular curriculumis supplemented by additional inputs to keep abreast of the changing scenario in the IT industry. In addition to the curriculum, the periodic seminars from experts in the industry as well as academia, industrial trainings, project works and intra- departmental contests enable the students to sharpen their skills. Our students have consistently achieved good placements and several have been accepted/are pursuing post graduate studies at reputed Universities.Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme is a three-year programme with one full semester devoted to project work. In addition to the core courses in Computer Science covering the basic knowledge areas, there are courses from Mathematics, Management and Bioinformatics, which enable the students to acquire the required skills for a successful career.
