The department is well equipped with top class laboratories. Various laboratories provide platform for the students to learn the practical aspects of the theory they had grasped from the class rooms. More over, laboratories provide equipments for the students to materialize their project work to reality. All such works are being assisted by devoted staff members. Various laboratories that run by the EEE department are

  • Electrical Machines lab
  • Electrical Measurements lab
  • Advanced Electrical Engineering lab
  • Electronics lab
  • Electrical Workshop
  • Software lab
  • Computer/Internet lab

Electrical Machines Lab

This lab is equipped with all kinds of AC and DC machines mainly covered in B Tech curriculum. The major equipments include three-phase alternators, three-phase squirrel cage and slip-ring induction motors, pole changing induction motors, single-phase induction motors, dc shunt and series motors, dc generators, transformers etc. Through hands-on experience with real machines, students gain practical exposure in using various kinds of machines, starters, loading arrangements etc.

Electrical Measurements Lab

This lab is involved in various areas of study related to measurement and calibration. It is equipped with all measuring instruments, energy meters, bridge and potentiometer circuits and induction coils. Students learn to verify network theorems, calibrate the meters, understand the phenomenon of hysteresis and other important concepts related to metering.

Advanced Electrical Engineering Lab

This lab deals within an in-depth analysis of microprocessors, microcontrollers and control systems. With 8085, 8086 microprocessor and 8051 microcontroller kits, pentiumbased personal computers, interfacing devices like DAC, ADC, stepper motor interfaces, students are acquainted with the concept of assembly language programming and interfacing principles. The students are also trained in advanced sophisticated instruments like power, energy and harmonic analyzer. Harmonic studies of linear and non linear loads using harmonic analyzer are carried out in this lab.

Electrical Workshop

This is the basic lab that supports the study of beginners in engineering. The workshop store consists of common electrical devices and tools, megger, insulation tester, earth tester, clamp-on meter, soldering station, different types of lamps, switches, circuit breakers etc. The workshop gives practice to students on different types of domestic, commercial and industrial wirings. They obtain the basic knowledge regarding electrical safety and standards and also the ability to handle common tools. These experiments help in providing them the base they require as electrical engineers.

Electronics lab/Power Electronics lab

This lab deals implementation of all kinds of electronic circuits. The characteristics of transistors, power switches like MOSFET, TRIAC, DIAC etc are basic experiments. Studnets study various types of op-amp circuits its application in this lab. Power Electronic circuits like ac voltage controller, rectifiers, semi converters etc are implemented under this lab.

Software lab

With modern technologies, sophisticated analytical software are available that aids problem solving. Under this lab, students are fed with an opportunity to study various well established software like MATLAB, Mi-Power,PSIM etc. Most of the text book problems can be solved using the these software installed in numerous computers. More over this lab provides the foundation stone for the students to step in to their PG studies for which knowledge of these software are essential.
